Bring Out the Best in Yourself and Others – cover courtesy of FSB Associates The Master of Engagement does it again! A guidebook on how to get the best out of yourself as well as others, and applies to more than business situations

With this latest addition to his usual successful stream of advice books, Brian Tracy proves once again he is a master at engagement, for getting the best out of team members. And remember, those team members can be anyone you associate with – be it in a business environment or a more casual or family situation.

The Master of Engagement

Although slated in the Management section, this book has some excellent advice on how to treat ANYONE. While his last book fell down when it presented a few of his opinions as expert facts; Tracy has bounced back by providing more in depth reasoning for his musing. Theres a good expounding on the why of fear development in children and of course, later as adults – and how to get the team/your staff over ingrained responses to many situations. It is a testimony to his own personal mission statement: “My purpose is to help people achieve their goals faster than they ever would have in the absence of my help”. 1

Provides Readers with Clear and Proven Methods

As usual and expected, each of the nine chapters starts off with a proverb or notable quote, and ends with Action Exercises. Be careful though. To get the best out of others starts with the reader. So yes, you are expected to learn to change. Tracy not only provides the how and the why (of characteristics or behaviour to change), but also provides help in figuring out the which. Tracy shows an inherent wisdom by immediately telling the reader to “get started by working on a single behaviour” – thus avoiding what could quickly become an overwhelming situation.

His six As for self-esteem; four ways to change (yourself); and five steps to winning are clearly laid out.
